Walking on the streets of Hakodate, one sees brick warehouses, Western-style buildings, and storehouses that give a sense of the city’s history as a port town open to the world. At the same time, one encounters many buildings featuring curious blends of Japanese and Western styles, with the first floor in Japanese and the second floor designed in Western style.

하코다테의 거리를 걸으면, 세계에 열린 미나토마치로서의 역사를 느끼게 하는 벽돌 창고나 서양관, 토조 등이 눈에 들어옵니다. 한편, 1층이 일본식, 2층이 서양식이라고 하는 일본양양 절충의 건물도 많이 보입니다.
