Kohta Train Station / Aalto University Wood Program


The manifestation of a Finnish lifestyle seen through the eyes of 17 students from 10 different countries around the world. Kohta was inspired by a walk in the forest. With its straight, leaning and twisted elements it organizes nature into a wooden sanctuary. Due to its geometric composition and carefully designed elements, a variety of spaces are created, allowing the user to choose their experience within. Its purpose is to provide shelter from the windy and rainy winters while allowing open spaces during the summer months. Initially designed to serve Koria’s 2019 housing fair, this structure has become a city landmark. Serving as a train station, the design contemplates the users’ behaviour and interaction with their surroundings. Every module acts as a service area. Bike racks and information displays on opposite ends are positioned between the wall structures. At the center is the seating area, defined by the unobstructed views as the roof acts as a stabilizing element between modules.

 

세계 10개국에서 온 17명의 학생의 눈을 통해 본 핀란드의 라이프 스타일을 표현. 코우타는 숲의 산책에서 영감을 받았습니다. 똑바로, 기울어진, 비틀어진 요소로 자연을 나무의 성역으로 결합합니다. 기하학적 구성과 신중하게 설계된 요소는 사용자가 자신의 경험을 선택할 수 있도록 다양한 공간을 만듭니다. 그 목적은 여름 동안 열린 공간을 확보하면서 겨울 바람과 비에서 피난처를 제공하는 것입니다. 처음에는 코리아의 2019년 주택 박람회를 위해 설계된 이 건물은 이제 도시의 랜드마크가 되었습니다. 철도 역 역할을 하는 이 디자인은 사용자의 행동과 주변과의 상호작용을 고려합니다. 모든 모듈은 서비스 영역으로 작동합니다. 자전거 랙과 양쪽 끝의 정보 디스플레이는 벽 구조 사이에 배치됩니다. 중앙에는 좌석 구역이 있으며 지붕이 모듈 사이의 안정 요소로 작동하므로 차단할 수없는 전망이 펼쳐집니다.
