YeongJong Do Onnuri Church / shinslab architecture

The Yeongjongdo Onnuri Church stands as a unique religious center on a developing island near Seoul, South Korea. Its design integrates the symbolic form of Noah's Ark with the practical concept of upcycling dismantled ship hulls. The building's bow, which is pointed skyward, serves as a powerful visual reminder of the ark. This project promotes the concepts of scale, ready-made elements, and sustainable reuse. Fragmented sections of the recycled ship's hull become integral parts of the church's architecture. Steel, a readily available and highly durable material, finds renewed purpose in its elegant, curved forms.


영종도 온누리교회는 한국 서울 근교의 개발도상 섬에 독특한 종교센터로 서 있습니다. 그 디자인은 노아의 방주의 상징적 인 모양과 해체 된 선체를 업 사이클링하는 실용적인 개념을 통합합니다. 하늘을 향한 건물의 뱃머리는 방주를 강력하게 시각적으로 상기시키는 역할을 한다. 이 프로젝트는 규모, 기성품 요소, 지속 가능한 재사용 개념을 추진합니다. 재활용 된 선체의 조각은 교회 건축의 필수적인 부분이 될 것입니다. 쉽게 사용할 수 있고 내구성있는 소재 인 스틸은 우아하고 곡선적인 형태에 새로운 용도를 발견했습니다.
