Bowral House / Luke Moloney Architecture

Set in the cool-climate town of Bowral, two hours south of Sydney, this modest cottage was designed as a response to place. A humble c1940s bungalow stood in a large garden, but there was next to no connection between the two. The brief from the owners was to create a new pavilion containing kitchen, dining, and living spaces. They were insistent that the architecture of the new extension has something a little unconventional about it. Set in a conservation area, the neighboring houses are consistently late nineteenth or early twentieth century, with a relatively consistent architectural character. In designing the extension, it was decided to look past the built environment instead of the ancient landscape.


시드니에서 남쪽으로 2 시간 동안 시원한 기후 마을 보랄에 위치한이 검소한 코티지는 장소에 따라 디자인되었습니다. 1940년대 무렵의 검소한 방갈로가 넓은 정원에 지어졌지만, 이 두 사이에는 아무런 연결도 없었습니다. 주인의 제안은 부엌, 식사 및 거실 공간을 갖춘 새로운 파빌리온을 건설하는 것이 었습니다. 그들은 새로운 확장 기능의 아키텍처에 약간의 깨진 점이 있다고 주장했다. 보호 지역 내에 위치하고 있으며, 인접한 집들은 일관되게 19세기 후반부터 20세기 초의 것으로, 비교적 일관된 건축적 특징을 가지고 있습니다. 증축 부분의 설계에서는 고대 풍경이 아니라 건축된 환경을 고려하기로 결정되었습니다.
