Suizhou Baimei Station / UP Architecture

 Located in Jiukouyan Village, Luoyang Town, Zengdu District, Suizhou City, Baimei Station is the pioneer demonstration building of Baimei Village constructed by China Foundation for Rural Development (CFRD), aiming to provide cultural, exhibition and activity space for the countryside. The site which is located halfway up the mountain connects to the village road with a 3-meter wide path. The strip-shaped site faces west, with a view of the verdant green hills, and there is a two-hundred-year-old ginkgo tree in the courtyard. The project discussed the following issues, how to integrate the new building into this site, and how the publicity of the station can coexist with the daily life of the villagers.


수주시 빈도구 낙양진구구 이와무라에 있는 시라미역은 중국농촌발전기금회(CFRD)가 시골에 문화, 전시, 활동공간을 제공하는 것을 목적으로 건설한 시라미무라의 선구적 데모 빌딩입니다. 산 중복에 위치한 부지는 폭 3m의 길에서 마을길과 연결되어 있다. 띠 모양의 부지는 무성한 구릉을 바라보는 서쪽으로, 안뜰에는 수령 2백년의 은행나무가 있다. 프로젝트에서는 새로운 건물을 이 부지에 어떻게 통합하는지, 역의 공공성과 마을 주민들의 일상생활을 어떻게 공존시키는지 등의 과제가 논의되었다.
