 Context - Located beyond the western periphery of Ahmedabad city, the project sits in an area that geographically marks the beginning of the flat, arid landscape that culminates as the Little Rann of Kutch. The chosen plot of land is approached obliquely by a vehicular road that reveals a row of Gulmohar trees along its eastern edge. This diagonal view- the first moment of encounter with the site- is capitalized on and developed into the main organizational axis for the house. Siting - Major building masses- i.e., the principal house, swimming pool, gazebo, and caretaker’s residence are aligned along the western edge of the site. Of these, the ancillary spaces are thickened into an edge-like formation along the shared boundary with the neighboring plot. This frees the smaller front garden to circumscribe about the house, go past the row of Gulmohar trees, and extend into the larger rear garden- a move that unifies the exterior space into a continuous, unfolding gardened landscape that envelops the house. 


배경 - 이 프로젝트는 아흐메다바드 시의 서쪽 가장자리 건너편에 위치하고 있으며, 커치의 작은 목장으로 정점에 도달하는 평평하고 건조한 풍경의 시작을 지리적으로 보여주는 지역에 위치하고 있습니다. 선택한 토지에는 차도가 비스듬히 가까워지고 있어 동쪽 끝을 따라 구르모할의 나무들이 늘어서 있는 것이 보입니다. 이 대각선 관점, 즉 부지와의 첫 만남의 순간이 활용되어이 집의 조직의 주축으로 발전되었습니다. 부지 - 주요 건물, 수영장, 전망대, 관리인 주거 등의 주요 건물이 부지의 서쪽 가장자리를 따라 늘어서 있습니다. 이 중 보조 공간은 인접한 부지와의 공유 경계를 따라 엣지 형상으로 두께를 갖게 하고 있습니다. 이로 인해 작은 앞뜰이 집 주위를 둘러싸고 미식가의 가로수를 통과하여 더 큰 뒷마당으로 퍼질 수 있습니다. 이것은 외부 공간이 집을 감싸는 연속적인 전개하는 정원의 풍경으로 통일됩니다.
