Ateliers Takahito Sekiguchi has renovated the Hair Room Toaru in Saitama, Japan.

This project is a hair salon located on the roadside in a rural area of Saitama – famous for wood resources – which needed to be rebuilt due to land readjustment.

"Against the standardisation of the city landscape, we created walls and roofs consisting of small active elements (mirrors, wooden counters) in the cutting space of [the] hair salon," said Ateliers Takahito Sekiguchi. "We created the natural architecture regardless of design or use that visualises the charm of [the] city and hair salon."

The architects dismantled and architecturally recombined the wood, before layering the scenery of past and present cities to impact overall environmental performance and a sustainable architecture project.


아틀리에 타카히토 세키구치는 사이타마현에 있는 「Hair Room Toaru」를 리뉴얼했습니다.

이 프로젝트는 목재 자원으로 유명한 사이타마 현의 시골 도로를 따라 헤어 살롱으로 구획 정리에 의해 재건축이 필요했습니다.

"도시 풍경의 표준화에 대항하여 우리는 헤어 살롱의 컷 스페이스에 작은 활성 요소 (거울, 목제 카운터)로 구성된 벽과 지붕을 만들었습니다"라고 아틀리에의 세키구치 타카히토씨 . "거리와 헤어 살롱의 매력을 시각화하는 디자인이나 용도를 불문하고 자연스러운 건축을 만들었습니다."
