The Grand Jury of the prestigious organization decided to award the First RIBA International Prize to UTEC because it considered that the structure of its building goes against conventional beauty and really integrates as part of the landscape of Lima. "This is an award for buildings, not for an architect," said Richard Rogers, chairman of the RIBA International Prize jury.
